Transforming Regional Content Delivery for Automotive OEMs and Dealers with GenAI and AEM

As automotive organisations scale their digital presence across regional microsites or franchisee networks, the demand for personalised, localised, and brand-consistent content increases exponentially.

Traditional content operations, relying on manual effort, struggle to keep pace with this scale, often leading to inconsistent messaging, delayed go-to-market timelines, and missed engagement opportunities.

To address these challenges, Embitel Technologies conceptualised a proof of concept leveraging Adobe Sensei GenAI to automate the creation, personalisation, and publishing of microsite content. The objective was to streamline content workflows, ensure regional relevance, and maintain central brand governance, all within the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) ecosystem.

This solution was tested against a hypothetical use case in the automotive retail sector, focusing on dealer microsites. However, the framework is equally applicable across industries such as retail, BFSI, education, and hospitality where localised microsite content is critical./p>

Business challenge:

The automotive dealership network grows consistently. With every new dealership added, content becomes more fragmented and difficult to manage.

Managing individual dealer microsites requires immense manual effort. Some types of content that can be challenging to create manually include –

  • Vehicle-specific descriptions
  • Regional promotional messages
  • SEO-compliant landing pages
  • Personalised service messages

This led to several core challenges:

  • Manually updating hundreds of microsites strained content authoring teams.
  • Dealers often deviated from brand-approved messaging due to the lack of standardisation.
  • Regional content teams struggled to produce and translate content quickly for local markets.
  • Poorly personalised or outdated content impacted engagement and conversion rates.

To solve these challenges, our in-house automotive digital experience experts crafted a GenAI-powered content automation system which streamlines content operations while maintaining brand and regulatory compliance.

We designed a plugin-based, GenAI-integrated content automation solution using Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Sensei GenAI, tailored for large-scale dealer networks.

Our solution automates the entire content lifecycle – from creation to personalisation, ensuring every dealer site is always fresh, localised, and optimised for engagement.

Solution Architecture & Execution

Phase 1: Content Modeling & Authoring Setup

  • Created Content Fragment Models for vehicles, promotions, and landing pages with fields such as:
    • Model Name, Trim, Price
    • Regional Offers, SEO Tags, Promo Text
  • Set up MSM (Multi-Site Manager) with Live Copies for each dealer microsite.
  • Built editable templates and core components to support flexible content layouts.

Phase 2: Generative AI Integration

  • Developed a custom AEM Workflow Step and Sling Servlet to connect with Adobe Sensei GenAI and fallback integration with OpenAI APIs.
  • Automatically populated Content Fragment fields such as:
    • Vehicle descriptions
    • Region-specific promotional messaging
    • Meta descriptions, alt-text, and SEO tags

Phase 3: Personalisation & Localisation

  • Used Adobe Target and ContextHub to deliver content based on:
    • Visitor’s location
    • User profile or behaviour
  • Applied i18n frameworks and GenAI-powered translations for multilingual support.

Phase 4: Workflow Automation

  • Built an AEM Workflow to automate:
    • Trigger-based content generation (on inventory or offer updates)
    • Page creation and approval flows
    • Scheduled content publishing per region

Our solution enables each dealer microsite to instantly provide:

  • Vehicle-Specific Descriptions – AI-generated based on trim, features, and latest inventory
  • Region-Specific Promotions – Tailored to geography, pricing strategy, and seasonal offers
  • SEO-Optimised Landing Pages – With AI-generated metadata and keyword-driven content
